Easter Egg Coloring

Cassie and Ron coloring Easter eggs! They look so thrilled! Don't everybody faint, because I am updating this blog. I know it has been a long time. We have all been pretty busy. It seems like the weeks just fly by. We had a good day today. We went down to mom and dad's for Easter dinner! We had a very good dinner. Missed Beth and Boof.

Cassie's birthday was actually on Wednesday, but she didn't have her party until last night. I am posting a few pictures from last night. Cassie was sick on her birthday, so it wasn't a very good day for her.

Gingerbread House

Christmas Tree and Remembering

Here is a picture of our Christmas tree, I tried to get one showing the lights but it didn't turn out right. I was just thinking it was four years ago today that we came home to find our road blocked by fire trucks and our house on fire. That was last straw in a horrible year for us. I really thought my life was over that day, BUT we have come so far since then. God has been so good to us and blessed Ron and I both with jobs and a home on 86 acres. Cassie has adjusted well to living here in West Virginia and we all are much happier and content here. I am so thankful for everything. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

Baby Bear

Here is a picture of a baby bear that you could see in a tree just down from our driveway this afternoon. Ron got as close as he could to get the picture but our camera wouldn't zoom in very well. He had to be careful in case the mother was nearby.

Not much new happening here, but snow, snow, snow. We probably have a foot or more. I can't believe Christmas is almost a month away. Time seems to fly. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving Day, as Beth and Ralph and Missy and Jess are supposed to be coming down.

Trick-or-Treat

Cassie was Cleopatra for Halloween. She went trick or treating last night. She got quite a bit of candy and even got to go through a "drive through" for candy. Not really the guy that owns the gas station up in town always gives out candy and he let us pull up and gave her the candy through the window. At least it wasn't too cold last night and most of the snow was gone. I think she had fun.

Carving a Pumpkin

New Calves

We now have another new calf at our house. It was born last night sometime. It is so cute. I am posting pictures above of both calves, the black calf was not looking my way in the picture. Also a picture of Bo, he had an itch and a picture of Cassie in the back of the police cruiser. She was a prisoner. We have been pretty busy. It was the Buckwheat Festival this weekend. Cassie and I went down Thursday and Saturday. We had fun, but got wore out. Well, enjoy the pictures.

When momma finally lets it come around I will try to get a picture. It has been a quiet weekend. I have a rotten cold and Cassie hasn't felt to good either.

We had a pretty busy weekend. Friday night mom and dad and my Aunt Jane and Uncle Bob came up for supper. We had a good time. Saturday we had a yard sale, but we didn't do very well, Sunday we went to church, up to the neighbors for a corn roast and then to a birthday party. Monday we just basically bummed around, went to Walmart and Dennys and I got some things done that had been needing done. It went way too fast as always. Now today is back to the old grind. Here are a few pictures I took yesterday of the dogs and Ron being a dufus.

I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I would take some pictures and post them. The first one is of the new gate and post Ron put in and he put my bear with the welcome sign on top of the post. I thought it looked cute. The next two are of Bo getting his new halter on and with Cassie. Bo loves being in the yard with everybody. He is a big baby. Not much else going on. Cassie goes back to school on Tuesday. I don't think she is too happy.

It has been a busy week. I took a few pictures to post. Ralph, Darren and Dane spent the night with us Wednesday night on their way to North Carolina. So here is a picture of Cassie with the boys. Ron has been trying to get the fields mowed down since we've been home. So I took a picture of him in the lower field mowing. Nothing much else happening. I can't believe it is August already.

VACATION

We went on a little vacation over the weekend. We actually left Wednesday afternoon and stayed the night in Sandusky, OH and went to Cedar Point on Thursday, then we went on up to Michigan Thursday night. Cassie had never been to Cedar Point nor had Ron so it was new to them. Cassie liked it of course and wants to go back. It was really nice to get away for a little while. Cassie got to spend time with her cousins and she really didn't want to come home yet, but tomorrow is back to the old grind again! I am exhausted! Sorry I don't have any pictures to post, but like an idiot I didn't take my camera. Maybe next time!

Here are some miscellaneous pictures I took yesterday. Not much happening this weekend. Cassie and I made applesauce yesterday. It was the first time we ever made homemade applesauce. I think it turned out really well. Want some? You'll have to come and visit us to get some! Ha!:)) We went to a family reunion today on dad's side. I got to meet some family I had never met. One great, great aunt. She is my great grandma's sister the only one left. Well that is all I have to tell right now.

We finally had a nice day. It is supposed to rain again tomorrow though. I am posting some pictures of this evening. We finally got to get our yard mowed and Cassie had some fun in the pool. I am so glad we get a 3 day weekend. I am ready for a break!

Happy Birthday Ron!

Today is Ron's Birthday. Cassie and I made him a cake last night. I know we
don't know how to professionally decorate but we tried our own way.
We got rid of our truck last week and got us an Escape. I feel much more
comfortable in the Escape than the truck. I was scared of the truck in the
winter because you had to manually put it into four wheel drive and the back
end would go side ways on you. Another plus we are getting much better gas
mileage now.

THE WEEKEND

Malorie and Easton came back from Michigan with Mom and Dad and they wanted to stay with Cassie tonight. Mom and Dad brought them up to Aurora to the Heritage Festival and then I brought them home with me. They will go to church with us in the morning then we will head down to mom and dad's for dinner. I think Cassie is enjoying having them here.

Today we just spent most of the day at home relaxing. It was a stormy rainy day. Not much new happening here. Cassie had her program Thursday night and she did a very good job. She has another program on Tuesday then she is out of school on the 6th. I think she is ready for summer. I wish I got a summer break.

Not much new going on here. It has been rainy and cold for quite sometime, but the sun is out today still a little cool. Cassie is going to be in a couple plays at her school. I thought I would post something since it has been awhile. Our neighbors came down for a visit last month and I took a picture of Cassie holding their baby. Cassie loves to hold her whenever she sees her. I also took a picture of the birds a few weeks ago. They are still noisy as ever. Baby loves it when I go up to the cage and just talk to him. He still whistles the Andy Griffith toon and hollers pretty bird. Some mornings I would like to ring both of the birds necks though, when I am trying to sleep and they are hollering. This week went by so fast. It is cloudy, rainy, and dreary here. I think it is supposed to be nasty into next week. Well not much else to tell.

Beautiful Day

I tried to get a couple pictures of my solar lights when they were on, but the pictures don't show them very well. It was so nice today, in the 80's. I really didn't want to be at work. I had to change my front flower bed again. The puppies kept knocking down my fences. I will try to get a new picture of the flower bed. I used rocks instead of fences, that was a lot of work. I can't wait to plant flowers in it. I just hope I can keep the dogs out of it. They are quite bratty.

Well it was actually snowing today, I wasn't very happy. I don't have anything exciting to tell, but Cassie let me know that I hadn't posted anything in quite a while. My tomato plants are coming up in the window. I guess it won't be too long till they will be big enough to plant outside. Well that is all for now.

Yard

Ron and I decided to tear out the old flower bed today.
The old posts were rotton. I put up the fence here instead.
Now I just need beautiful flowers.
Ron bought me some solar lights and we put them
out today. I think they look nice especially tonight.
Sorry I don't have a picture after dark. He also put
up a tall welcome post with solar light, but I didn't
get it in the picture. Of course Gracie had to get in
my picture. Oh well.

Cassie and Ron got a new playstation game today and they are playing it. We sold another puppy last night. I kind of miss him though. We have one left to sell, want one? I took this picture out the kitchen window trying to capture the sunset in the background and the snow that was falling. It was so beautiful, but the picture just didn't capture it all. Today was unique in that one minute it would be snowing big snowflakes and the next the sun would be out. Cassie has to go back to school tomorrow. I don't think she wants to go. Oh well I had to work, I didn't get a break!!

It feels like spring today, but we may get snow tomorrow. I can't believe Easter is Sunday. It is coming so quick this year. Cassie only gets today and Monday off for Spring Break. Cassie came home from school today and said everybody there somehow thought she broke her wrist. She was even on prayer chains last night. We don't know where it came from. She did not break her wrist, she was home all night doing make up work. I would like to know who started the rumor. We got a pretty good laugh out of it although she said it was embarrassing for her. Cassie decided to color her Easter eggs after church and lunch today. She still enjoys coloring them. They turned out really nice. We didn't get too much snow, hardly any. Thank goodness. It is cold here though.

Today ended up being a pretty nice day today. It is in the 50's here no rain so far. It is supposed to rain and snow tonight. Yuck. We got rid of one our puppies today. Cassie was really upset. I think it went to a good home though. We got a collar for Cassie's puppy and tried to put in on her, but Moose (another puppy) tried to pull her around by the collar so we took it off. He is so ornery.
